TwinCAT3 automation software integrates PLC, NC, CNC features and real-time control into a single package. TwinCAT Runtime is a multitasking operating system that runs in parallel on the host operating system. 32-bit and 64-bit variants of Windows and TwinCAT/BSD can be used as host operating systems. In addition to high determinism, TwinCat real-time provides the possibility to fully utilize existing cores of PCs for multi-core operation.
